I’ll withhold judgement until I get a full catalog of light fixtures.

Wait. There are schools with majors in Gigolo?
Why is CSUN coming to mind? Oh, because Dirk Diggler took classes there.

Probably not the only member of the Valley’s most infamous profession that has darkened Cal State Northridge’s doors.

I kind of want this house.
Maybe if I get a better job I can move out of the shack I live in now and get someplace sweet like this.

Surprisingly, they actually do pretty well here. I feel like you need to have a window washer on speed dial to clean the moss off them frequently, though.
One of my neighbors has a solar system that pays them to have it because it back feeds the grid. They don’t have to worry about our frequent power outages, either.

That’s awesome...despite the lower-UV zone, it sounds like you at least have incentives to install them.
My surprise was mainly based on this map. If you were east of the Cascades , I feel like they’d be more common, but I know PV arrays are getting more efficient all the time.

We’re in the 1300 zone... I believe the latitude also limits the potential to some extent.
My house consumes less than 750kWh a month during the hottest months with the AC cranked. The rest of the year it doesn’t go above 500kWh a month... These even more modern houses or massively renovated houses often use even less than mine does.

Nice...that’s almost apartment-level usage where I live. W e’re in the 1, 600 zone and the house uses about 600kWh in the middle of winter (with gas heat) but summer is easily 1,4 00-1,700. I guess the zoning is pretty accurate. We crested 2,000 several years ago before we replaced our upstairs A/C — that unit alone is probably 2/3 of our entire power consumption in the summer. But with a full second floor and all of them bedrooms, it’s the only way to maintain the temp. With all systems off, the upstairs will easily go 10+ degrees higher than outside, making it uninhabitable (plus mold growth from humidity).
Unfortunately, the utility company charges a pretty steep fee just to remain attached to the grid ($ 40-$50/mo) , so almost all of your solar investment savings go away. No rebates or incentives at the state level.

You’re telling me they actually have colleges for something other than male prostitution?
